Billy and his family were farming families living in a small community with relatives and friends. They were struggling to survive on a plot of land where they could grow their food, plant tobacco for income, ad live from year to year.

All was well until someone shot his father. His murder changed the family as they had to keep farming without their father. His mother never gave up and held her family together. As Billy looked for the murderer that took his father away, he became the man of the family.

His adventures led him in many directions, not to hate, not for revenge. He wanted to know who shot papa and why? His big brother by another mother, Otto, joined him on this adventure.
